Hi,

 

We have a requirement of 10 portal developers for a period of 6 months
starting end of March with the following skill set. 
Location is Macquarie Park/North Ryde

  
Education and experience 
  
-          At least six years software development experience, including
substantial Web development experience (both front and back end) 
-          Portal development experience (including content
aggregation/content management) 
-          Experience of Agile methodologies and Scrum 
-          Preferably degree qualified 
  


Technical Knowledge and Skills 
  
-          Knowledge of and interest in various technologies and languages,
e.g. 
o        Linux/Unix, BSD or Mac OS X (total comfort in a Unix environment is
a must) 
o        Java, Perl, Python, C, C++ 
o        Apache/Tomcat 
o        MySQL, PostGRES, Oracle 
o        CVS 


-          Understanding of portal technologies and frameworks - should know
the top internet portal sites, and be able to describe their implementation
technologies and analyse their strengths and weaknesses 
-          Excellent knowledge of a range of software engineering topics
including data structures and algorithms, distributed computing, database
theory, object oriented programming, software architecture, and design
patterns 
-          Sound understanding of software engineering methodologies 


  
Technical Interests 
  
-          May have created a Google Gadget, Yahoo Widget, Mac OS X
Dashboard widget, a Facebook application, "AJAX" application etc. which you
are able to present and discuss 
-          Keen interest in Open Source projects
